Product Introduction
High strength hex bolts manufactured to ASTM specifications and available across a comprehensive range of metric property classes — 4.8, 6.8, 8.8, 10.9, and 12.9 — covering general mechanical assembly through critical structural tension joints. Imperial sizes conform to ASTM A325 and A490 dimensional and mechanical requirements. Surface finishes are matched to in-service environmental severity.
Material & Mechanical Properties
Forged from medium carbon alloy steel; heat-treated by quenching and tempering where the property class requires. Proof load, tensile strength, and Charpy V-notch values are certified by heat lot under ISO 898-1 or applicable ASTM standards. Classes 8.8 and 10.9 deliver the strength levels historically associated with A325 bolting, while 12.9 meets demands for yield strengths exceeding 1100 MPa.
Geometry & Thread Form
The heavy hex head provides a solid wrenching surface for open-end, box, or powered sockets, reducing radial slip and fastener damage during installation. Coarse pitch metric threads (ISO 724) and UNC imperial threads speed insertion, lower cross-threading risk in structural steel, and maintain clamp force under vibration better than fine-pitch equivalents.
Corrosion Protection
Standard finish: zinc electroplated per ASTM B633 (Fe/Zn, 5–8 µm), offering rust resistance for indoor and sheltered outdoor exposures. For C3–C5 corrosivity environments per ISO 9223, hot-dip galvanizing to ASTM A153, zinc-nickel, or other engineered barrier coatings are specified.
Application Suitability
Steel framing, heavy equipment mounting, bridge and infrastructure bolting, pre-engineered metal buildings, and industrial machinery where consistent preload and long-term durability are essential
